1988年，墨丘里和卡巴耶合作的《巴塞罗那》问世，并很快得到了全世界的认同，成为排行榜上的又一首长胜歌曲。遗憾的是，在巴塞罗那奥运会的开幕式上，我们没能看到两人的同台表演，因为在奥运会开幕前一年，也就是 1991的11月24日，墨丘里因艾滋病离开了这个世界。

而卡巴耶也因为朋友的离去，拒绝再与其他歌手合作演唱这首歌，因此，在巴塞罗那奥运会的开幕式现场，我们没能欣赏到这首《巴塞罗那》，这不能不说是个遗憾。
